Mr. Mohamed Mostafa

Mr. Mohamed Mostafa is a distinguished insurance professional with over 25 years of extensive leadership experience across Egypt, the UAE, and international insurance markets.

He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Orient Egypt and CEO – International Markets at Orient Insurance PJSC, overseeing strategic growth, business expansion, and operational excellence across multiple markets.

Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Orient Takaful Insurance Company in Egypt for over 14 years, successfully transforming the organisation into one of Egypt’s leading non-life insurers. His distinguished career also includes senior management positions at Orient Insurance Company in the UAE and Allianz Egypt Insurance Company.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, specialising in Insurance, and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. His extensive expertise encompasses strategic leadership, insurance and reinsurance, international business development, digital transformation, corporate governance, and enterprise risk management.

His proven leadership, international market experience, and strategic vision bring significant value to the Board of Orient Insurance Limited.

Managing Director and CEO

Tanuj Edward

Tanuj Edward, Managing Director and CEO, counts over 32 years of professional experience in the insurance industry and held many Senior Management positions in Sri Lanka and overseas. He is a Chartered Insurer and Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London and a Senior Associate of Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

Throughout his illustrious career holding key positions in the insurance industry of Sri Lanka and overseas, Tanuj has been the recipient of multiple accolades and recognition awards for his services. His very latest sprint was bagging the special award of recognition “Al-Futtaim Values Award” the most prestigious recognition awarded by the group.  His achievement thus went beyond his own halo and garnered recognition to Sri Lanka in a global forum.

Tanuj Commenced his insurance career at Union Assurance Limited in 1990, thereafter he joined Norwich Union, and returned back to Sri Lanka to Join Eagle Insurance and was part of Eagle Star, Zurich, AVIVA and AIA, thereafter he Joined Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) to gain exposure in Marine Hull, Aviation and Energy, after a successful learning there he returned to Sri Lanka to Join AIA General Insurance and continued in the capacities of Chief Operating Officer, and Deputy CEO of AIA General Insurance limited.

He is also the Secretary of IASL (Insurance Association of Sri Lanka) and a member of the Insurance Sub Committee of ICC (International Chamber of Commerce).

Nimmi Guneratne 

Mrs. Nimmi Guneratne is a distinguished insurance professional and corporate leader with over 37 years of experience in the insurance industry, corporate governance, and strategic management.

She is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII), London, a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, and an Attorney-at-Law, holding a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.

During her distinguished career with the Aitken Spence Group, she held several senior leadership and Board positions, including Director of Aitken Spence Group Ltd. and Managing Director of Aitken Spence Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd.

She served as President of the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute from 2006 to 2009 and has made significant contributions to insurance education, regulatory development, and industry advancement. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the insurance industry, she was inducted into the Insurance Hall of Fame in 2018.

Her extensive expertise in insurance, corporate governance, legal affairs, risk management, and regulatory compliance brings valuable strategic insight and industry experience to the Board of Orient Insurance Limited.

Deshapriya De Silva

Mr. Deshapriya De Silva is the known professionals in the insurance industry who reached the Pinnacle of the industry starting from 1985. Mr. Deshapriya De Silva started his profession at Mercantile Credit and has gained 35 years of experience by working at ACW insurance, Union Assurance and Fair first Insurance. He has held key positions in the insurance industry in motor, health, fire and other miscellaneous business units while directly handling operations departments.

Priya Aponso

Mr. Priya Aponso is an experienced and renowned personality within Orient and the Insurance industry. Mr. Aponso commenced his career in the Insurance Industry in 1988 when he joined CTC Eagle Insurance Ltd (now known as AIA Insurance Lanka Ltd) at the inception of the Company. He held progressively responsible positions before being appointed as the Chief Financial Officer in 2001, a position he retained until a few months prior to his retirement in 2010.
